1. Company visit Jaga

To build bridges between the world of research and enterprises, Hasselt University and Voka – KvK Limburg join forces by organising company visits, during which junior researchers are given the opportunity to discover the ins and outs of a company. Our second visit will take place at Jaga, where you'll explore the company's organisational structure and various job roles, and experience an informative guided tour of their production and services. The visit concludes with a networking lunch. The visit takes place on December 15, 2023 (10:00-13:00). For additional information and registration, click here.

2. Inspirational session 'Self-regulation as an important leadership quality'

In the ever-evolving world of academia and business, effective leadership is essential. But how can we cultivate our leadership skills and maintain focus amid turbulent times? Neuroscience holds the key, and Dr. Karolien Notebaert is here to guide us. Join us for an interactive talk where she will delve into the crucial leadership quality of self-regulation. Discover how self-regulation empowers leaders to understand and manage their own emotions, building trust and credibility within their teams. This quality enables leaders to act in alignment with their values, even when facing challenges and temptations. It is the cornerstone of effective leadership, allowing leaders to lead by example, make sound decisions, and maintain their integrity and well-being. This session is part of our mentoring trajectory for junior researchers and tenure tracks, but it's open to all professors and postdocs at Hasselt University. Prior to the lecture, mentors and mentees can participate in a speed dating session, and after the lecture, everyone is invited to join a networking reception.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to enhance your leadership skills! Please make sure to register, indicating which parts of the program you plan to attend.
(Stay tuned for the upcoming mentoring trajectory call in one of our next newsletters!)
