Prof. Paulo will provide during this lecture, the most recent studies in posture and gait research using functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS). Understanding how healthy and neurological populations control their movements, can provide better tools in rehabilitation practices.

Dr. Paulo Henrique Silva Pelicioni:
Paulo is a lecturer at the School of Health Sciences at the University of New South Wales, a conjoint research fellow at Neuroscience Research Australia and the founder and leader of the Movement Disorders and Ageing (MoDA) Research Group. Paulo conducts interdisciplinary research at the intersection of rehabilitation, human movement sciences and neuroscience, focused on preventing falls in people with neurological disorders. His fields of expertise and current areas of interest include: understanding the mechanisms of falls in older people and people with Parkinson’s disease; indigenous health and equity in Parkinson’s care, and understanding the function of healthy and pathological brains.
