As a project engineer you will be working in 2 research groups within the international CORNET-TETRA project MULTIREC: MPR&S with a focus on physical/mechanical characterization of materials and ACC with a focus on chemical characterization of materials, both research groups belong to the research institute imo-imomec (https://www.uhasselt.be/en/instituten-en/imo-imomec).
Within MPR&S you perform the mechanical characterization on the different stretch films (recycled or non-recycled, with or without recycled content) and you carry out the transport simulation research (evaluating the functionality of stretch films during vibration, falling and shocks impacts on palletized loads).
This research includes the case studies provided by the companies. Within ACC you follow the chemical material analyses of the different stretch films under the guidance of a post-doc researcher. These chemical analyses substantiate the functionality of the stretch films. You attend the Flemish and international project meetings and user group meetings with companies.
The research group MPR&S is a research group in the Faculty of Engineering Technology. The research group ACC is a research group in the Faculty of Sciences.
You will work in a group of 7 engineers and lab technicians, each with his specific expertise.
For all the research you will be guided by a postdoc researcher and the 2 academic coordinators of the research groups.
You can report clearly, both orally and in writing, in Dutch and in English;
You have a strong interest in application-oriented research;
You can cooperate with other stakeholders (e.g. companies) to develop an optimal solution.
You will be appointed and paid as Researcher.
From March 1, 2025 for a period of 1 year.
