  • You provide technical support to ensure efficient and high-quality operation of the Ecotron. This includes monitoring the operation of sensors, checking the correct data flow to the database, taking water samples, filling tensiometers and installing new sensors.
  • You support the management of the Ecotron facility in the areas of logistics, purchasing and budget management with regard to equipment.
  • Under supervision, you implement improvements to the infrastructure. This includes the technical maintenance of the equipment, such as adjustments to the rain system and the gas sampling system. • You supervise technical projects such as the installation of new (small) Ecotron units or experiments in the Ecotron lysimeters.
  • You are responsible for the calibration of the equipment. These improvements contribute to the accuracy of measurements and data and may also be required for safety reasons.
  • You will work in a small team with internal colleagues, but will have weekly contact with researchers and engineers from the university and companies. Your workplace is the Field Research Centre at the Hoge Kempen National Park in Maasmechelen.

  • You challenge yourself to work as accurately and in detail as possible in order to achieve a high-quality end result.

  • You act in line with the interests of Ecotron and ensure an organized and tidy working environment.

  • You have a flexible work attitude and like to take initiative.

  • You find it important for yourself to take responsibility and to contribute purposefully to the set project goals.

  • You have a driving license B, so that you can travel in function of your work. You bring samples to Jülich (Germany) on a monthly basis and occasionally drive within the region for equipment purchases and connections with UHasselt laboratories and administration.
