What?

On 7 December the FWO will launch a call for the FWO PhD fellowships fundamental research and strategic basic research. The submission deadline will be 3 March 2025 (5 PM). More information on these grants can be found on the FWO website (Be aware that these info pages are still about the 2024 call and will be updated as soon as the new call is opened): 
- Call PhD fellowship fundamental research (aspirant fundamenteel onderzoek)
- Call PhD fellowship strategic basic research (aspirant strategisch basisonderzoek) 

NEW: As of the 2025 call PhD fellowships strategic basic research with a societal finality will be introduced.

• Tips on grant writing and motivation statement writing 
• 12 December 2024 (09:00 AM - 12:00 PM) – room A4 Building D campus Diepenbeek
• 12 December 2024 (01:00 PM - 04:00 PM) – room A4 Building D campus Diepenbeek
• 13 December 2024 (09:00 AM - 12:00 PM) – room E139 Building D campus Diepenbeek

• An online workshop on writing a data management plan: 5 February 2025 (10:00 AM - 12:00 PM)
• A workshop on how to make your motivation statement stand out:
• 5 February 2025 (09:00 AM - 12:00 PM) – room A4 Building D campus Diepenbeek
• 5 February 2025 (01:00 PM - 04:00 PM) – room A4 Building D campus Diepenbeek
• 6 February 2025 (01:00 PM - 04:00 PM) – room A4 Building D campus Diepenbeek
• Interview training for applicants invited to the interview (second half of August 2025)

Participation in the support program is free of charge but registration is mandatory.

Registration for the online FWO info session and the grant writing session is open. If you wish to participate, we kindly ask you to register here no later than Monday 9 December 2024 (12 PM).
