The emphasis at cSBO is on innovative research that, in case of scientific success, offers a prospect for later economic or societal applications. The cSBO is independent and meets the needs identified and endorsed by the target companies (from the relevant cluster).
The most important basic valorisation strategy in the design and implementation of a cSBO project with an economic finality is the transfer of the research results to existing companies. Here, it is appropriate to demonstrate applicability at multiple companies.
Due to the long distance from the market, a successful cSBO project will primarily produce results that will subsequently be translated into concrete applications at companies through further research, development and implementation processes.
The subsidies for SBO - projects to the knowledge institutions is 100% of the accepted budget of the project. The project budget is fixed a priori at a maximum of €500,000 per year (with an exception rule).
All project proposals must be submitted as a 2-pager to Blue Cluster before the deadline of 30/01/2025 via the Blue Cluster website.
All proposers will then have to pitch their project proposal before the steering committee on 6 February 2025.
After approval by the steering committee, the 2-pager can be further developed into 10-pager for submission to The Blue Cluster on 27 March 2025. The full proposal should then be submitted to VLAIO by 29 May 2025.
During the preparation of all projects, The Blue Cluster provides support to the project partners.
