KOTK: seed money preparation prevention projects

Research

Funding organisation:

Kom op tegen Kanker vzw

What?

Seed money for pilot studies and/or preparatory work for research in cancer prevention.

Creating a well-founded and impactful prevention project requires thorough preparation. Kom Op Tegen Kanker launches this call for seed money to provide additional support in that preparatory phase.
The purpose of this seed money is to test an innovative idea, do preliminary research or do preparatory work needed to arrive at a high-quality and impactful project in cancer prevention within a short-term period. Examples include registering and linking databases, developing a consortium, approaching and involving the (diverse) target group, detecting needs among the target group, evaluating the feasibility of a project,...

The seed money serves as a lever to prepare impactful prevention projects that fit within the prevention themes of Kom Op Tegen Kanker: a healthy living environment, a healthy lifestyle and early detection. Kom Op Tegen Kanker underlines the complementary nature of its funding and thereby takes on a role in prevention projects for which no or insufficient financing is made available by the government, industry, and/or other funders.

Duration: 6 months to 1 year.
Budget: max. 70.000 EUR per project.

(The new call for prevention projects will open in October 2024.)

Who?

Financing is available for projects organised from a research institution, a centre of excellence or a civil society organisation.
