Content

During this info session a general introduction to ethics & research integrity will given by Prof. Geert Molenberghs. He will also give more information about the structure and role of the committees for scientific integrity. After the introduction, representatives of different disciplines within the DS S&T are invited to explain one or more cases or examples of scientific misconduct within their field of research. The examples/cases will be related to falsification, fabrication, fraude, plagiarism,... After the presentations, there will be time for discussion and questions.

Learning outcomes

At the end of this session, participants...

  • will be aware about research and research/ethical conduct
  • will be aware about scientific conduct
  • will get insights in different cases of ethics and research integrity in different disciplines

An important part of preparing for any further professional step is becoming (more) aware of the competences you have developed and/or want to develop. In the current session, the following competences from the UHasselt competency overview are actively dealt with:

  • The session will take place at campus Diepenbeek, building D, room A102.

  • As places are limited, registering does not automatically imply that you will be able to participate. You will be notified by email in due time.
