The Faculty of Law at Hasselt University invites submissions for the upcoming Investment Law Junior Research Colloquium on 29 November 2024. The Colloquium is an opportunity for junior researchers in international investment law and related fields to submit part of their research for in-depth review and discussion.

The hybrid event will provide a forum for junior researchers to connect with peers and experts, receive insightful feedback on their work and expand their research networks. Selected participants will have the opportunity to present their research, engage in substantive discussions, and receive constructive feedback from an audience of peers and experts.

Format

The colloquium will be held in a hybrid format with physical attendance hosted at the Faculty of Law of Hasselt University, Belgium. Participants may present their overall research or a specific aspect, followed by discussions led by the selected expert discussant. Attendance in person is encouraged.

Who should apply?

The call is open to PhD, post-doctoral and independent researchers in the field of international investment law or closely related fields, including interdisciplinary research.

How to apply?

Selected participants will be invited to submit more detailed summaries of their research to be presented at least three weeks before the event. These summaries will be circulated to registered attendees two weeks prior to the event to allow for robust audience participation and feedback.

  • Registrations are closed.
  • As places are limited, registering does not automatically imply that you will be able to participate. You will be notified by email in due time.
  • Please cancel your registration at least one week in advance in case you cannot make it (cf. cancellation & no-show policy).

Acknowledged as?

  • Category 'research output': speaker at self-organized (with research group) or internal conference/seminar/colloquium = 4 points D
