Nuclear Technology

The NUCLEAR TECHNOLOGY CENTER (NuTeC) investigates the influences of nuclear radiation on the general public (radon, gamma ray exposure). NuTeC is specialised in both assessing the impact of environmental exposure (naturally occurring radionuclides) and the impact of medical treatments with ionising radiation (medical dosimetry). More recently microdosimetry and radiobiology are new research topics. The center has also developed, in collaboration with TANC (UHasselt) and SREMAT (KULeuven), a large experience in dedicated treatment and re-use of organic and inorganic residues.
