Non-reciprocal optical effects in hybrid multi-layered nanostructures (Research)

Abstract

This project aims at studying non-reciprocal optical effects in hybrid multilayered structures composed of nanoparticles decorated with organic polymers. The hybrid multi-layered structures will be prepared by ultrasonic spray-coating. In a next step, the non-reciprocal optical effects will be studied and we will establish the corresponding material-property relations in order to further optimize their response. The nonreciprocal effects that we will study are Faraday rotation, asymmetric optical transmission, and nonreciprocal natural optical rotation.
