Project R-9271

Title

FWO travel credit for a long stay abroad at the Ithaca College 17/08/2018-16/02/2019 and Princeton University 17/02/2019-16/08/2019. (Research)

Abstract

The investigation of processes that trigger cross-species pathogen transmission is central to disease ecology and epidemiology. The interactions of coinfecting pathogens within the same host are considered to be important herein, but very little is known about their dynamics in the wild. This FWO-mobility allowance supports Dr. Heylen's MSCA fellowship project that aims to fill this gap by determining a conceptual framework for copathogen effects on disease transmission in wildlife.
