Title
Developing and testing a protocol to abtain a contact matrix of people aged 50+ through a pilot study (Research)
Abstract
The team of Prof. Niel Hens (CenStat, Data Science Institute, Hasselt University) will perform a pilot study in Flanders aimed to develop and test a study protocol that investigates the contact patterns of elderly people (50+). The protocol should be able to construct a reliable contact matrix for 50+ people that can be used in dynamic infection models testing the impact of vaccines. The project should also be able to list the strengths and weaknesses of the method of investigation among elderly people of 50+ split in different age-groups. Different interview method will be compared to identify the best data collection method in terms of feasibility and quality of the results. This project runs in collaboration with and is sponsored by GSK Biologicals.
