Extension of the testing capacity of the Application Center for Concrete and Construction towards pseudo-dynamic and hybrid geographically distributed testing (Research)

The purpose of the project is to extend the capacity of the structural testing facility of Hasselt University with two objectives. The first one is pseudo-dynamic testing, where the inertial and damping forces are simulated numerically while the restoring forces are obtained from the physical model. The second one is hybrid testing, where the interesting part of the structure is modelled physically in the laboratory while the rest of the structure is virtually taken into account thorugh a computational model. Both aspects will also be possibly coupled.
