Exploratory research in preparation for the focus and approach of practice-based research for commissioned art in public space (Research)

The aim of this assignment is to prepare the focus, concrete fields of work and approach of a practice-based research project entitled 'Art in commission in public space' on the basis of an exploratory study. On the one hand, the research focuses on creating support among the various stakeholders and, on the other hand, carries out an extensive analysis from the bottom up with a view to the potential of commissioned art in public space and from the perspective of the future changes to which the public space is subject. The assignment ultimately leads to: - an exploratory study with stakeholders from the arts field and public space and a methodology and approach that focuses on support, knowledge building and sharing - an extensive final report with a presentation of all study findings, recommendations for policy and further practice-based research on commissioned art in public space with a proposal for the focus with concrete work fields and methods of approach, - and a report of the discussions held and the exploratory research trajectory
