Research agreement between UHasselt (Law) and Woonplatform Limburg vzw for the project: "Towards a broad social housing organization: challenges and pitfalls" (Research)

The Flemish Government Agreement (2019-2024) formulates the ambition to merge the social housing companies (SHMs) and social rental agencies (SVKs) into one housing actor with only one player per municipality by January 1st 2023. Starting from this ambition, the design of this study is multidimensional. Firstly the research aims to provide guidance to the actors in the field of social housing (initially SHMs and SVKs) in the province of Limburg to facilitate further cooperation (and integration). Secondly, this study investigates the possibilities for a more intensive collaboration between social housing organizations in general in the province of Limburg. Specifically, we strive for an efficient, effective and customer-oriented organization. Attention is paid to both the social housing sector (including SHMs, SVKs, Vlaams Woningfonds and others) and the social buying sector (SHMs).
