Project R-11189

Title

Experience Design Generator (EDG) (Research)

Abstract

The Experience Design Generator (EDG) is a prototype of a tool that measures 'experience' in a physical store. The EDG is not a ready-to-license tool yet. The prototype originates from fashion retail and needs further validations to be usable in other sectors. Based on these validations underlying weighting criteria and scores can be fine-tuned and calibrated, allowing further up-scaling and licensing the tool. Both the input and output are not adapted yet to the visual language of possible licensees. The aim of this POC project is threefold: 1. further validation and calibration within fashion but certainly within other sectors, 2. adjustments to a ready-to-license tool and 3. a market survey of potential licensees and their willingness to pay. In our business model, we target a license model among a select group of experts - interior designers (including (interior)architects), product designers and consultants with specific expertise in retail. UHasselt will not serve the end customers directly. Hence, in regard of the EDG we would like to complement our services of the Retail Design Lab with a licensing model for experts only.
