Neighbour improvement Waterschei (Research)

Since the end of restrictions on the mobility of Bulgarian workers within the EU in 2014, more and more Bulgarians are finding their way to Genk, where they form the largest group of new migrants. With the project 'Wijkverbetering Waterschei', funded by the Flemish Community, the City of Genk wishes to gain a better understanding of the migration reasons of this diverse group (including Turkish Bulgarians and Roma) and the structure of its social networks. The City of Genk wishes to have more information on the nature and structure of this migration flow in order to better adapt its operations and services to it. The research will be based on desk research and in-depth interviews with migrants and service providers
