Intrinsic electro-optical properties of (semi)conducting nanofibres in Cable Bacteria – a materials science perspective towards electronic biological materials (Research)
Abstract
Cable Bacteria demonstrate surprising electrical transport along biological nanofibers. The aim of this project is to unravel from a materials science perspective the intrinsic electro-optical properties of these nanofibers, with as additional motivation their potential future role in emerging domains such as bio-electronics, biodegradable electronics and electronic biological materials (e-biologics).
