How healthy are Limburg gardens? (Research)

With this citizen science project, UHasselt, Research Center for Regional Analysis (ORA) and Center for Environmental Sciences (CMK), in collaboration with Het Belang van Limburg (HBvL), wish to map, analyze and analyze soil life in Limburg gardens together with citizens. monitor and improve where possible. Soil life fulfills numerous indispensable functions: recycling (mineralization) of organic nutrients into forms available for plants, crop growth promotion, disease resistance, etc. Yet the concept of soil life remains underexposed for the average person: 'are there bacteria in my garden?' The approach of this project is therefore to tell a positive story in which we focus on 3 objectives: 'get to know, measure and improve soil life'
