IOF mandate Institute for Materials Research (IMO-IMOMEC) 2024-2028 (Research)

Creating tangible impact on our society lies in the centre of the mission and vision of the research institute imo-imomec. The institute stands for excellence in interdisciplinary materials research encompassing materials chemistry, physics and engineering technology, with a focus on sustainability, under the motto 'from atom to reliable device'. Valorisation/business development activities have an important role to play to realize this ambition. By leveraging science, technology and talent, the institute can achieve economical and societal impact, both internationally as in the local ecosystem. This entails a focus on identifying scientific and technological research outcome with potential for impact, while stimulating and supporting valorisation through projects with companies, IP generation and commercialisation, or spin-off creation. Imo-imomec aims for a win-win approach, flexible to tailor to opportunities or industrial needs
