DIGIBUILD: Digital Support for Construction Industrialization through Off-site Production (Research)

The primary objective of DigiBuild is to simplify and enhance collaboration between construction companies and manufacturing firms by streamlining the information exchange between digital construction models and production processes and software. This will facilitate the use of off-site produced basic elements on the average construction site and strengthen the control of (external) production from a central, digital (BIM) model. Improved interoperability between construction and production data is central to this goal, linked to the prevention of data loss. DigiBuild mainly targets a group of pioneers and 'early adopters' from the construction sector and manufacturing industry who already possess a certain level of digital maturity to build upon, and who have experience with the challenging communication between these processes. This includes contractors and designers who regularly attempt to order or have elements produced from construction/BIM data, and manufacturers who frequently receive requests to respond to various digital construction data.
