XR-Home: eXtended Reality Home (Research)
Abstract
The XR-House aims to enhance the innovation and competitiveness of companies in Limburg by encouraging them to increase the use of XR technologies (VR/AR/MR, serious gaming, wearables, and sensors) in their operations. The XR-House is part of the SALKturbo ambition line 'Innovation for Added Value' and focuses on accelerating and strengthening innovation as an attraction for (knowledge) companies, (technical) talent, and future-oriented jobs with high added value. The XR-House also aligns with the SALKturbo priority on digitalization – ambition line 'digital turbo tailored to every company and sector'. Establishing an eXtended Reality House, where awareness, training, research, development, and innovative education are central, is an important step in further 'digitalizing' companies in Limburg, thereby accelerating the Limburg economy. This digitalization of companies offers new economic opportunities for innovative entrepreneurship and jobs in various sectors, including manufacturing, construction, healthcare, logistics, biotech, and the agro-food industry.
