Local development dynamics: application to peripheral cities of mining sites in Haut-Katanga, DR Congo (Research)
Abstract
This study aims to model and simulate spatial transformations in villages around rapidly urbanizing mining sites, using a multi-agent model. The study is based on a literature review, data collection and scenario experiments with inhabitants, planners and policy makers in these villages. The study seeks to explore the role of multi-agent models in the steering of spatial transformation processes in villages around mining sites.
