Title
Mensgerichte AI voor gepersonaliseerd leren voor handmatige vaardigheden (Research)
Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) research is rapidly transforming the
educational sector, offering both opportunities and challenges. AI
promises personalized learning experiences, improved access to
resources, and, ideally, more efficient learning. However, it also
raises concerns about ethics and privacy.
My research takes a human-centered approach to integrate AI in
education. Specifically, we will explore how AI can offer
personalized learning paths to learning manual skills in structured
processes such as school labs, industrial assembly, and clinical
procedures. The main objective is to gather and integrate various
sources of information, such as data on individuals, processes,
study materials, and contextual factors like environmental
conditions or tool usage, to provide detailed feedback and
real-time guidance for specific students' actions.
We will study different guidance levels based on domain-specific
constraints like time, procedures, spatial, and movement
patterns. This technical approach will be complemented by
pedagogical theory, ensuring that the integration of AI supports
effective learning. Additionally, we will prioritize transparency,
user control, and agency in the educational process, ensuring
students and other stakeholders can shape their learning
experiences. By focusing on human-centered and
human-in-the-loop methodologies, we aim to ensure that AI in
education fulfills ethical and privacy requirements.
