Title

Process Analytics in Healthcare: zorgorganisaties in staat stellen om hun processen beter te begrijpen en te verbeteren op een datagedreven manier (Research)

Abstract

Process Analytics in Healthcare focuses on the development of methods that enable care organisations to better understand and improve their processes in a data-driven way. Such methods are becoming increasingly relevant as care organisations are confronted with a plethora of challenges such as accommodating increased care needs while being confronted with structural staff shortages. Hence, care organisations are increasingly aware of the need to critically assess and improve both their clinical and supporting processes. Against this background, there is a promising evolution in that increasing volumes of data are recorded during their day-to-day operations as many of the activities being performed leave a digital trail in an information system. Process Analytics in Healthcare enables care organisations to retrieve value from their data by translating raw data from the information system into actionable insights. Examples of the wide variety of research questions that are tackled include: how to support the improvement of care pathways in a data-driven way? How to improve the work organisation in a data-driven way to cope with increasing nurse shortages? How to support capacity estimation and facility design decisions in a data-driven way?
