Moving Further (Research)

Within the EFRD project 115 'Moving Forward' a web platform was developed to collect data in a simple way to develop an online accessibility map. With this platform, accessibility applications can be implemented for several target groups. In the previous project the focus was on school accessibility maps that visualize dangerous and safe routes to school and to inform students about points of interest on the road. In this follow-up project we wish to increase the added value and the usability of this web platform in order to maximize the viability. On the one hand the added value of school accessibility maps will increase by integrating in in a ready made teaching module which can be used by schools to reach teaching targets. Furthermore, this interactive approach will better succeed in sensitizing youngsters on traffic safety. On the other hand, in this follow-up project an application will be developed that aims at other target groups, more specifically companies, policy organs and people. This online map visualizes the accessibility of certain areas and allows to simulate evolutions over time and to split-up results according to several criteria.
