Title
An open framework for intelligent rehabilitation client-centered functional therapy using motion detection. (Research)
Abstract
Physical rehabilitation is important for people with neurological and musculoskeletal disorders to function better in society and can contribute greatly to the degree of self-reliance and therefore the quality of life. Within physical rehabilitation the client-oriented functional approach is extremely important because the patient is involved in the drafting of goals and the therapy is individually adjusted to the needs and activities chosen by the person himself. Previous research and literature shows the added value of client-centered functional therapy compared to a standard rehabilitation program (which focuses on standard exercises) because it leads to better motivation, better rehabilitation outcome (with greater self-sufficiency as a result), which achieved faster results and thus will reduce the residual demand for care.
