Chris Bessemans studied Philosophy (BA, MA, MPhil, teaching degree) at the Institute of Philosophy, University of Leuven where he also obtained his PhD in philosophy (analytic, phenomenological value-ethics) in 2012. Since 2019, he is teaching humanities (and architectural ethics) at the Faculty of Architecture and Arts and was involved in some research projects at the faculty from 2020 onwards. In 2022, he joined the research group TRACE and co-developed (with PI Koenraad Van Cleempoel) the research project 'The ethical nature of architectural interventions in built heritage' which was supported by the Research Foundation - Flanders (FWO) and on which he started working in 2024.
