🗓️ Date: 9th July
🕖 Time: 19:00 - 23:00
📍 Venue: UHasselt, Aula H6 for presentations, “Wintertuin” for networking
Note: Due to the uncertainty and unpredictability of maiden rocket launches, we have opted to host a smaller launch event, with the possibility of last-minute program changes. These changes will appear on our socials and this web page.
It's finally happening… The new and improved magnetometer, OSCAR-QUBE+, is set to launch into space aboard the Ariane 6 rocket, thanks to our friends at YPSAT. We couldn't be more thrilled to see our technology tested in such a monumental way. Our mission has always been to inspire and empower students by demonstrating that anything is possible, and we want you to join us as we celebrate this milestone!
You may still remember our sensor technology from the OSCAR-QUBE mission onboard the ISS, but we haven’t stopped since then. With our interdisciplinary student team, we have developed a new iteration of the quantum diamond magnetic field sensor: OSCAR-QUBE+ is more sensitive, smaller, and lighter than its predecessor. Find out how we improved our technology and ensured sustainability within the team to keep the OSCAR project thriving in inspiring presentations and discover the benefits and opportunities generated by the Ariane6 mission. Additionally, you'll hear firsthand perspectives from the ESA YPSat team—young ESA professionals who have collaborated closely with us throughout the mission.
The event will culminate in a live viewing of the Ariane 6 launch, followed by a small reception where you can network with individuals from both the university and industry sectors.
