Outbreaks, most dramatically illustrated by the COVID-19 pandemic, highlight the impact that biologicals can have on society. Although we rarely encounter such extreme cases, the same principles for addressing biological risks are relevant for applications in life sciences and biotechnology.
During this training, participants will identify specific risks that are presented by biologicals, how to assess them and how to select proper management techniques. This will be done against a background of legal requirements and resources that are relevant for conducting R&D in a state-of-the-art environment.
This course will be taught by Dr. Pascale Van Rooij, a biosafety specialist of 3BIO.
