Content

This course is a part of the PhD efficiency week 2024 (25/03/24 - 29/03/24) organized by for PhD students of the Faculty of Law. Other courses included in this trajectory are:

  • PhD template
  • Reference management for legal research purposes
  • Legal posters: How to present your research in a clear and comprehensible way
  • Methodology: Working with Legaltech Legidex
  • PhD pitch and roundtable

This workshop will involve a presentation on the use of methodology in legal research, as well as a Q&A session. The Q&A part of the workshop will give PhD researchers the opportunity to receive insights regarding the methodology they use in their research. 

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, participants will:

  • have an understanding of the different research methodologies applicable to legal research
  • have learnt about useful methodologies for their own research

Competences

An important part of preparing for any further professional step is becoming (more) aware of the competences you have developed and/or want to develop. In the current workshop, the following competences from the UHasselt competency overview are actively dealt with:

  • academic research competences
  • intellectual competences
