This course is a part of the PhD efficiency week 2024 (25/03/24 - 29/03/24) organized by for PhD students of the Faculty of Law. Other courses included in this trajectory are:

  • PhD template
  • Methodology in the framework of legal PhD research
  • Reference management for legal research purposes
  • Legal posters: How to present your research in a clear and comprehensible way
  • PhD pitch and roundtable

This session, by Lode Robben, will give an introduction to LegalTech for Belgian and European Law. It will also show how to work with Legidex.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, participants will be:

  • have a general insight in LegalTech,
  • have experienced working with Legidex,
  • be aware of the possibilities and limitations of LegalTech/Legidex.

Competences

An important part of preparing for any further professional step is becoming (more) aware of the competences you have developed and/or want to develop. In the current workshop, the following competences from the UHasselt competency overview are actively dealt with:

  • academic research competences
    • data management
    • information management
    • research methods
