Content

During this digital session, three testimonials on science communication will be given: one by Prof. dr. Marie DeCock (assistant professor in public law at UHasselt and winner of the PhD cup in 2023), one by dr. Ben Verhoeven (science communicator and founder of ERLNMYR) and one by dr. Robin Bonné (UHasselt PhD alumnus in biophysics and founder of Robin Talks Science).

They will discuss their personal experiences with science communication (during their PhD and after): what did / did not work, which obstacles did they encounter and how did they deal with those, ... Based on their own experiences, they will formulate tips and tricks. Attending this session will therefore be a great way to learn from the experience of others.

After the final testimonial by Robin Bonné he will also give a 1-hour hands-on session on how to get your research on social media. In this workshop you will learn when social media can help you with your research (and when not), how to find the essence of your message and how to put it into a clear post. At the end of the workshop, you will create your (first) post yourself and we will learn from each other's feedback.
