Automated Catalogue

Summary:

The current cataloguing procedure is performed in several manual steps:

  • Custodians should register themselves on the Catalogue
  • All metadata (the questionnaire) in the Catalogue need to be completed manually

Alternatively, data custodians can complete a Word file containing the questionnaire and share it with the research group of biomedical data sciences. Subsequently, they can add the new registry/updated metadata to the Catalogue.

However, aim to reduce the workload of data custodians as much as possible, because cataloguing is labor intensive and time consuming. Therefore, we developed a new tool that automatically completes the fingerprint needed to complete the COVID-19 MSDA Catalogue, without sharing patient-level data. More specifically, we developed several pipelines and were able, via APIs, to connect those with the platform where mock data (in the same format as the data that was shared via the registries in the GDSI) was saved and with the Catalogue. Thereby, we successfully completed a part of the questionnaire of the COVID-19 Catalogue automatically.
