About us

The Simpact team is a dynamic group of researchers with academic affiliations at the Center for Statistics (CenStat) at Hasselt University, the International Centre for Reproductive Health (ICRH) at Ghent University, the Vaccine & Infectious Disease Institute at the University of Antwerp and the South African Centre for Epidemiological Modelling and Analysis (SACEMA) at Stellenbosch University. Amongst our team, we have backgrounds in medicine, biostatistics, epidemiology, computer science, physics and biology.

We strive to conduct state of the art research in the quest for effective and efficient HIV treatment and prevention programmes in countries with generalised and concentrated HIV epidemics. We believe with Simpact we can make a tangible contribution to evidence-based decision making in HIV-related public health policy and programme implementation, while at the same time pushing the innovation envelope in HIV modelling and simulation.
