Worldevening

The World Evening is a festive evening where students will prepare foods from a variety of cultures and regions, bringing the spirit of internationalism to us through cuisine. International entertainment will also be planned so that guests can enjoy traditional songs and dance. This evening aims to connect all members of the university, both students and staff, and other interested parties, with the world close to home.

Do you want to get involved?

If you will be actively involved this evening, please do NOT register via the official registration link, but only via one of the forms below! You will be granted free entry, food and a drink. If you have friends or family who will be joining you, they do have to officially register.

  • Every year students from more than 20 countries prepare delicious appetizers from their home countries, in exchange for a free ticket and food. Of course all ingredients will be reimbursed. Would you like to share your culinary culture as well?  Please register through this form.
  • Interested in taking the stage during the world show? We're looking for international students who are traditional dancers, singers, presenters, fashionistas who would like to walk the catwalk, musicians, quizzers, sports enthusiasts,... Is this you? Please let us know!
  • Would you like to volunteer during this evening? We're looking for student and/or staff bartenders, DJ's, servers, helpers at the registration desks, IT support, presenters, helping hands at workshops,... during one or more shifts. Is this you? Please let us know

Please note that registrations for cookers/entertainers/volunteers close on varying dates. Please consult the relevant forms!

In case of any specific questions, please contact international@uhasselt.be.

How much will UHasselt contribute for cooking?

We refund the purchases for a maximum of 200 euro per country/group. These purchases should be of ingredients to make your dish and only if absolutely necessary, we allow the purchase of disposable serving dishes etc. It should be clear by their nature and quantity that they will be used only for the dish for the world evening. For example, we do not reimburse durable glass or metal kitchenware and quantities of any purchase that clearly will not only be used for the world evening.

Please keep all original tickets and receipts with the details of your purchases. We urge you to ask for official invoices/receipts. If this is absolutely not possible, the receipt must at least contain the purchase date, store details, ingredients, total price, and a stamp / header / signature of the store owner. Without these details, we cannot reimburse you!

After you submit the online form, you’ll receive the document ‘schuldvordering’: you can fill it in and send it back to the e-mail you received it from.

I have filled out the Google form for preparing food/the world show/as a volunteer. Should I register and pay for entrance fee?

No, you do not. If you already registered via the Google form and also paid an entrance fee per mistake, mail us for refund via international@uhasselt.be.

Only the students who have explicitly registered via one of the Google Forms (cooking, show or volunteers) will receive free entry! No names will be added on the evening itself.

Everyone who is not registered via one of the above-mentioned Google Forms, need to register beforehand (5 euro) or on the evening itself (10 euro).
