Laurence Lutsen received a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Montpellier II (France) in 1994. After a first post-doc position at the University of Kent at Canterbury (England) in 1995, she started working on the synthesis of conjugated polymers at the Limburgs Universitair Centrum (LUC) in Diepenbeek (Belgium) in 1997.
She is currently a Strategic Research Manager at IMEC (IMOMEC Associated Laboratory in Hasselt, Belgium). Her research focuses on the design and synthesis of novel semiconductors to be used as active materials in organic and hybrid electronic devices such as light-emitting diodes, transistors, solar cells, chemo- and biosensors.
