Lize Bynens obtained her Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Hasselt University in 2019 after performing a Bachelor's thesis in the DSOS group, during which she worked on the development of a novel electron acceptor for organic photodetectors. She proceeded her education with a Master of Chemistry at KULeuven, during which she performed an external internship at the medicinal chemistry department of Galapagos, where she synthesized novel small molecule kinase inhibitors. In 2021, she finished her Master in Chemistry with a dissertation in the group of Prof. Wim Dehaen, investigating the multicomponent reaction of alkylaminoquinones with primary amines. Currently, she is performing her Ph.D. in Chemistry at the DSOS group. Her research is centered around the synthesis of novel mixed ionic-electronic polymeric semiconductors for organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs).
