Maarten Iven received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Hasselt University in 2022, with a dissertation on the synthesis and characterization of BODIPY photosensitizers performed in the DSOS group. He subsequently obtained his Master’s degree in Materiomics at Hasselt University, where he graduated “Magna Cum Laude”. During his Master's studies, he performed an internship at IMEC where he worked on the alkali treatment of CuInSe thin-film solar cells. His Master’s thesis was again performed within the DSOS group, on novel near-infrared absorbing materials for truly transparent organic photovoltaics. Currently, he is working on a Ph.D. project focusing on the design, synthesis, and evaluation of n-type organic thermoelectric materials for low-temperature applications, under the joint supervision of Prof. Vandewal and Prof. Maes.
