Tiwa (Sprite) Yimyai (1992°) received his bachelor’s degree in engineering (Petrochemical and Polymeric Materials) from the University of Silpakorn, Thailand in 2015. He started his career as a research engineer at Panasonic company (Thailand) to develop epoxy molding compounds. In 2017, he joined the Colloid Organic Materials Laboratory (COOL lab) at the Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC), Thailand to pursue his Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Daniel Crespy, focusing on self-healing and anticorrosion polymeric materials. In 2021, he was awarded a Fulbright Junior Research Scholarship and joined the group of Prof. Abdon Pena-Francesch at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, USA) to develop self-healing elastomer composites for wearable UV-sensors. After a brief research role at PTT Global Chemical public company in Thailand, he moved to Belgium to join the group of Nanobiophysics and Soft matter Interfaces at the Institute for Materials Research (imo-imomec), where he works on molecularly imprinted polymer-based microfluidic system for biosensors.
