Prof. Dr. Engr. Ali Pirdavani is currently appointed associate professor at the Faculty of Engineering Technology and the School for Transportation Sciences of Hasselt University and is affiliated with the Institute for Mobility (IMOB). He received his bachelor's degree in civil engineering and an M.Sc. in transportation engineering. In 2012 he received his Ph.D. at Hasselt University in the field of Transportation Sciences. Prior to his current appointment, he received a postdoctoral fellowship from the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) and was a researcher at the IMOB research institute of Hasselt University.
His research interests are road construction, road safety, autonomous vehicles, and statistical modeling. Prof. Pirdavani is the author of more than 80 scientific papers and is an editor for several renowned journals in his field, such as Sustainability and the KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering. He is a member of the editorial board of Advances in Transportation Studies and Promet - Traffic&Transportation.
