You can only order a laptop from the UHasselt group purchase via the webshop. This means that a laptop can only be ordered by students or employees of Hasselt University.
Invoicing will always be done in the name of the Hasselt University student or employee, invoicing in the name of a company or stating a VAT number is not possible.
Students have 2 options for paying for the laptop:
After receipt of your payment, you can check your order in the webshop, in order to see when you can pick up the laptop at Campusboekhandel XOD in Diepenbeek. With an approved payment plan, the collection is possible after receipt of the first installment.
Collection is only possible on presentation of your valid student card.
If you are a student in a very exceptional and temporary situation which makes it impossible for you to purchase a laptop, you may be able to claim a laptop on loan from UHasselt for a certain period of time.
In the event of a hardware defect, the laptop will be repaired the next working day by a HP technician on site at the customer (at home or at the student's flat or on campus or at any specified address within Benelux)
If you want to have the repair carried out at the UHasselt Servicedesk, you must submit a request for this via the Servicedesk Portal.
Excluded from this standard warranty is damage that is the result of accidental damage (for example, obviously dropping the laptop, spilling liquids) and/or theft of the laptop.
This is a 3 year carry-in warranty on the hardware. The laptop must be taken to an authorized Apple repair point for repair.
To cover the damage that is excluded from the HP warranty, UHasselt provides an extra warranty that is valid for one year after purchase.
In the event that this deposit is invoked, UHasselt applies a personal contribution/exemption of € 125.00 per claim, increased to € 250.00 for the damage related to "loss and disappearance". This personal contribution/exemption is at the expense of the owner of the laptop.
An identification sticker (with the UHasselt logo and a unique security code) is part of the service pack.
This provides better protection for the laptop against theft. The security code on the sticker is registered by Hasselt University, so that the laptop may be found after theft.
The Service Desk offers students standard software support, namely reinstallation of the Windows 11 Home image and resolution of connection problems with the UHasselt wireless network.
The student remains responsible at all times for having a backup of his/her data.
