What is plagiarism? 

Plagiarism is using words, phrases, ideas or information, … without referring (correctly) to the source or person. 
Having others or AI write your texts is also considered plagiarism. Check also your course guidelines for more information related to the use of AI in your thesis

How to prevent plagiarism?

  • Save your sources

Keep track of all your literature in an organised way.

  • Use the correct way to reference 

Check what reference style is expected in your programme (e.g. APA, Vancouver, ...)

  • Cite your sources appropriately

Follow quoting, paraphrasing, and summarising rules to refer to sources used correctly.
