After obtaining a Bachelor degree in Physics from the University of Ghent, Melissa Van Landeghem enrolled in the Master of Physics at the University of Antwerp. She graduated in 2015 with a thesis on photo-induced absorption spectroscopy in organic solar cells. Melissa then started a PhD in Antwerp in the NANOrOPT group under supervision of Profs. Etienne Goovaerts and Sabine Van Doorslaer. Her PhD research focused on optical and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy of organic semiconductors and 2D hybrid lead-halide perovskites. After obtaining her PhD in 2020, she accepted a postdoc position in the OOE group of Prof. Koen Vandewal at the University of Hasselt. Her current research interests include photophysics and time-resolved spectroscopy, quantum-chemical computations of EPR parameters and organic spintronics.
