The IDA team is responsible for the management, development and optimisation of internal research databases and administrative processes. In addition, this team focuses on the completeness and the quality control of the data in these databases.

The IDA team collects and analyses all kinds of research-related data (e.g. publications, projects, PhDs, datasets, etc.) that are needed for monitoring and evaluation purposes and for policy-making. The team also collects and validates data in the context of (government) reporting, funding allocation models and university rankings.

Research Data Management (RDM) refers to the way research data is managed throughout a research project. The UHasselt data stewards inform, train and support AUHL association researchers in their RDM activities throughout the entire research cycle.

The IDA team is responsible for the administrative management of all agreements in which UHasselt is involved, such as research contracts, cooperation agreements and contracts with industrial partners and government bodies, licence agreements, etc.

The Expertise Centre for Research and Development Monitoring (ECOOM) is an inter-university consortium of all Flemish universities. ECOOM develops indicators around Research & Development (R&D) and innovation for the Flemish government. The IDA team coordinates the research on classification governance, semantics and modelling of research information. This research forms the basis of several government reports and is also used on the FRIS portal.
