For most UHasselt users, UMaastricht accounts seem to be set up correctly. You should therefore have access to the databases, etc.

Enabled MFA?

You may need to activate Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for your UM account first. Without MFA, your UM account will not work. You can find more information and instructions at www.maastrichtuniversity.nl/mfa.

Issue with MFA

After enabling MFA, you may encounter a common issue, especially if you have already used the same browser for MFA with other institutions (such as KULeuven). In that case, you might be redirected to the MFA login screen of that other institution.

Possible solutions

  • Preferably, create different user profiles in Google Chrome. Use the UHasselt profile exclusively for logging in at UHasselt. Use another profile for each other institution (e.g. UMaastricht, KULeuven...).
  • You can also use different browsers to log in to different institutions: for example, Chrome for UHasselt; Firefox for UMaastricht; Edge for KULeuven.
  • You can try clearing the cookies/cache of your browser or using an incognito profile, but this approach is not entirely foolproof.

Still experiencing problems?
