2020-01-07: Avery Index: switch from ProQuest to EBSCO

Hasselt University has been subscribed to Avery for many years. The Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals is a bibliographic database that provides an extensive list of journal articles published worldwide in the fields of architecture and design, archaeology, construction materials, urban planning, interior design, landscape architecture, and heritage conservation. The coverage dates back to the 1930s (occasionally even to 1740) and extends to the present day.

The Avery Index is offered by two suppliers (ProQuest and EBSCO), each having their own search engine and pricing system. Until 2019, the University of Hasselt had a contract with ProQuest. Starting from 2020, we have entered into a new deal with EBSCO, among other reasons, to optimize the use of the valuable Art & Architecture database (also provided by EBSCO).
