Students of the academic teacher training program can register for free with the digital learning platforms Bingel & Diddit (published by VAN IN), Scoodle (published by Plantyn), Kabas & Polpo (published by die Keure), and Pelckmans Portaal (published by Pelckmans) through the University Library. By doing so, they gain unlimited access to the interactive textbooks (bordboeken) provided by these publishers.
If you want access to Bingel from publisher VAN IN, send an email from your UHasselt email account to philip.speelmans@uhasselt.be. You will then be added as a teacher and receive an email from Bingel to confirm your account.
You first need to create a Scoodle-account. Always use your UHasselt email address for your login details.
At the step 'choose school/add' ('school kiezen/toevoegen' leave the education level ('onderwijsniveau') blank (do not select anything), enter "Universiteit Hasselt," and choose 'Leraar' (teacher).
Confirm your account using the email you receive.
Next, notify your registration to the University Library UHasselt by sending an email (using your UHasselt email address) to philip.speelmans@uhasselt.be. We will then provide your personal activation code as soon as possible. This code is valid until September 15 of the current academic year.
Note: When creating a teacher account or searching for textbooks via Scoodle, you may experience delays in the system. Initially, you might be mistakenly registered as a student, which can cause activation code issues. If this happens, try again after a few hours—it should resolve itself.
If you want access to Kabas, send an email (using your UHasselt email address) to philip.speelmans@uhasselt.be. You will then receive a Kabas invitation with a link to set your password. Afterward, you can add the required methods to your Kabas profile. A separate activation code is no longer needed.
Publisher Pelckmans provides the digital textbooks via a shared activation code (the same code for all students), which differs per title. You can request an overview of all Pelckmans activation codes via your UHasselt email by contacting philip.speelmans@uhasselt.be.
You also need to create an account on the publisher's website. Be sure to use your UHasselt email address here as well.
Please note that sharing login credentials is a violation of copyright laws and can result in penalties imposed by the publishers.
You first need to create a Diddit-account. Afterward, you confirm your registration with the University Library UHasselt by sending an email (from your UHasselt email account) to philip.speelmans@uhasselt.be. We will then provide you with your personal activation code as soon as possible. This code is valid until the end of September of the current academic year.
With your Diddit account, you also have access to mijnlesmateriaal.be, another learning platform by VAN IN, where you can find numerous textbooks as well.
Tip: You don't have to (immediately) connect yourself to a school on Diddit. When you are presented with the first choice (I am a student | I am a teacher), click the "Skip" button. You will then jump to your account. To add learning materials there, you first need to activate your license using the activation code we provide.

If you want access to Polpo, send an email (from your UHasselt email account) to philip.speelmans@uhasselt.be. You will receive a Polpo invitation with a link to set your password. You can then add the methods you need via your profile. A separate activation code is no longer required.
While publishers VAN IN and Plantyn use a single personal activation code that grants access to all interactive textbooks, Pelckmans operates differently. They provide their interactive textbooks through a common activation code, which means all students use the same code, but each code varies depending on the specific title.
To obtain the overview of all Pelckmans activation codes, you send a message to philip.speelmans@uhasselt.be at the University Library using your UHasselt email account.
After creating an account on Pelckmans Portaal with your UHasselt email address, you can activate the respective code for each book. A code can be activated by each student up to 4 times per academic year, granting access to the online teacher materials for one month at a time.
Please note that sharing login credentials is a violation of copyright laws and can result in penalties imposed by the publishers.
As future teachers, students in the teacher training program have access to Het Archief voor Onderwijs ('Archive for Education'), an online platform offering an extensive collection of video and audio clips specifically curated for educational use, such as assignments or lesson preparation. The platform includes:
With convenient search and filter options, users can quickly find relevant materials. Additionally, tools are available to edit clips, such as trimming videos, and to create personal collections.
Teacher training students automatically receive an email with instructions to set up their password (around 15 October) —no further action is required on your part. If you cannot find this email, we recommend first checking the ‘Junk’ or ‘Spam’ folder in your email account. For further issues, you can contact the University Library at philip.speelmans@uhasselt.be.
Once you have chosen your password, you can log in to the Archief voor Onderwijs. Your account will remain valid until the end of the current academic year (end of September).
Teachers of the Educational Master’s program, as well as other educators, must create their individual accounts themselves on the Archive's website using their registration number ('stamboeknummer') or teacher's card number ('lerarenkaartnummer'). These accounts remain active but will be deactivated if not used for three consecutive academic years.
You can find more information on how to use the website here: onderwijs.hetarchief.be/hulp. This page provides FAQs and instructional videos.
Share videos and audio clips with students—including for primary education!—or teach your classes how to search effectively. Learn how students can gain access here.
