What are the EURECA-PRO lecture series?
UHasselt is a partner in the EURECA-PRO University Alliance, which organises a lecture series every semester. In the lecture series, professors from the 9 partner universities teach a 1-hour online lecture on an SDG12-related topic to an international student audience.
As a partner, we are to provide 2 guest lectures per term by UHasselt professors on an SDG 12-related topic. Find an overview of the lectures in the 2024-2025 winter term here.
This call is to gauge your interest in providing a guest lecture. If you are willing to give a guest lecture in the future (that is March 2025 at the earliest), please read along and register.
Anyone can attend these lectures and get a certificate acknowledging their participation.
What is the workload for UHasselt lecturers?
A lecture takes 1.5 hours and consists of a 1-hour (English) online lecture with ppt + 30 minutes Q&A.
A limited number of students from our 8 partner universities can take the series as a 5 ECTS module through TUBAF (Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg). Passing the TUBAF module involves an exam and a paper on a topic of the series.
Develop five multiple-choice questions for the exam (and the answer key).
TUBAF will correct these exams and mark the papers unless the paper's topic requires your specialist knowledge. This, however, will be an exception rather than the rule.
If your topic is selected by student(s) and too specific for the TUBAF team to correct, you must mark a maximum of 2 papers relying on the EURECA-PRO standardised form that will be sent to you.
How is the timing of your lecture set?
Once the new call comes around, you will still have the opportunity to indicate
Once the timing is set, organisers from the EURECA-PRO network will get in touch to discuss the practicalities.
